Founded in 1621 the Botanic Gardens are the oldest in Great Britain and one of the oldest scientific gardens worldwide. It’s 130 acres house no less than 5000 different plant species, making it the most compact and diverse collection of plants in the world. The gardens include wonderful glasshouses, walled gardens and an arboretum.
With over 200,000 visitors each year a suitable hard-wearing product was needed for the footpaths throughout this extensive site – and one that would last for years to come without the need for regular repair. Natural yet durable and perfectly in keeping with its surroundings, Breedon gravel was chosen and still looks fantastic!
