Dishley Pond

Breedon Special Aggregates supported C R Civil Engineering Ltd with materials for a local community project they were carrying out at Dishley Pond, Loughborough, close to our quarry at Breedon on the Hill.

The project involved the construction of a brand-new 520m footpath network around the pond, including access to the fishing pegs.

The final stage of the footpath scheme involved installing our self-binding product Breedon Golden Amber Gravel to the path network. An additional 170m of existing footpath to the north of the pond (constructed in 2018) was also reinstated with fresh Breedon Golden Amber Gravel to match the attractive finish surrounding the pond.

C R Civil Engineering General Foreman on the Dishley Pond scheme said: “The performance of the product is great. It was very easy to lay in the mini paver with no issues and no residue was left in the machine. The gravel is very long-lasting. I would definitely rate it a 10/10. It gave the scheme at Dishley a stunning finish.”

He added: “We can’t thank Breedon enough for their support in Dishley Pond’s refurbishment and we hope everyone enjoys the new path trail!”

We are currently supplying our Breedon Golden Amber Gravel to another project for C R Civil Engineering at the University of Warwick Campus where 4,000m2 of footpaths are being installed throughout the grounds. Watch this space for an update…
