RHS Bridgewater Update

RHS Bridgewater have this week announced that their grand opening date will be on Thursday 30th July 2020!

To celebrate this fantastic occasion there is a ten-day opening programme full of wonderful events to all who visit in August.

Take a look at this recent drone footage courtesy of the RHS, which gives some idea of the scale of this wonderful garden.

Breedon Special Aggregates are immensely proud to have supplied in excess of 600 tonnes of our acclaimed Breedon Golden Amber Gravel, the only self-binding product on the market to hold The Royal Warrant. Contractor A E Yates Ltd have expertly installed the pathways throughout the whole project and they look exceptional.

RHS Bridgewater is the first new garden for the RHS in nearly 20 years and at 154 acres, is currently the largest project of its kind in Europe.

The design of this monumental site was created by world-renowned landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith. Its centrepiece is the 11-acre Weston Walled Garden, one of the UK’s biggest, measuring the size of six football pitches and comprising 11 gardens, including The Paradise Garden, Kitchen Garden, Wellbeing Garden and Community Grow Spaces.

Once open and with further investment there’s more planned here at Bridgewater, which include an arboretum, a Northern College of Horticulture, a stunning glasshouse and renovation of the lost Nesfield terraces.

We are very much looking forward to revisiting and will post updated photographs in the near future.
